R. A. Dyer
R.A. DYER is the author of The Hustler & The Champ, and Hustler Days -- both from Lyons Press. He is also a columnist for one of the nation's premier pool magazines, Billiards Digest. He is currently a statehouse reporter for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, and before that, was a reporter for the Houston Chronicle, where he was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. He lives in Austin, Texas.

R.A. "Jake" Dyer has followed pool for more than two decades, writing about the sport and its history for a variety of publications.
He is the author of The Hustler & The Champ, and Hustler Days -- both from Lyons Press. Dyer also writes the Untold Stories column for Billiards Digest, one of the nation's premier pool magazines. His award-winning journalistic career spans more than two and includes reporting on behalf of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Houston Chronicle, The Washington Post and other newspapers. At the Houston Chronicle, Dyer was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize.
He resides with his family in Austin, Texas. Although Dyer has a pool table in his garage, he insists he still plays a very lousy game of nine-ball.
