In an attempting to break his own world, straight pool record, Jayson Shaw on Jan. 6, 2026 ran 832 balls. This exceeded his own record of 714, which, in turn, broke John Schmidt’s record of 626. Shaw was attempting to reach 1,000 balls when he ran his 832. Willie Mosconi famously held the record for 65 years after running 526 balls in 1954.
